This award-winning project included the refurbishment and upgrading of Dublin Cities first water supply scheme. Originating in the 1860’s it was the first major upgrade the scheme received since its inception and included;

  • a new impounding dam intake and spillway upgrade,
  • a new 80MLD fully covered water treatment plant,
  • 775kW high lift pumping station,
  • 4.5km of 1200mm rising mains, and,
  • a new 160 million litre covered storage reservoir and associated ancillary works.

Nicholas O’Dwyer, under contract with Uisce Éireann, oversaw the entire €200 million project, from concept stage through to planning, design, procurement, construction supervision, contract management, commissioning and handover.

The project received the 2022 Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland Engineering Excellence Award for Project Management.
